Isla Mujeres is a Mexican island in the Caribbean Sea, 13 kilometers off the Yucatán Peninsula coast. The island is some 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) long and 650 metres (2,130 ft) wide. To the east is the Caribbean Sea with a strong surf and rocky coast, and to the west the skyline of Cancún can be seen across the clear waters. In the 2010 census, the namesake town on the island had a population of 12,642 inhabitants. The island is part of the Isla Mujeres Municipality in the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Once a small fishing village, Isla Mujeres (meaning "Island of Women"), has become a favourite for travellers seeking natural beauty, island serenity and a slower pace of life—all without compromising its cultural traditions. It's a holiday destination known for beaches such as northern Playa Norte, resort hotels and for snorkeling and scuba diving on the surrounding coral reefs.
Amazing Customer Service
Laurraine, as you can imagine when I woke up on October 29th 2011 and heard that all Quantas flights to Australia were cancelled I was a wreck and in a panic. The Quantas website was directing all its passengers to call there travel agent Hmm good thing I had a great one I could call at home given an emergency. Laurraine, your advice of not to worry and board my American Airlines flight to LA not only saved me around 600 dollars but assured that I would get to my brothers wedding on time. I just wanted to send you this note as you went above the call of duty by securing other routes and above all putting my mind at ease. Thanks again Ryan McElroy and Family
